Milton

Milton is a great place to stay in Wales as this small quiet village has great access to the A477 meaning you will be in easy reach of some of Pembrokeshire’s most popular attractions such as Heatherton and Manor House (Anna Ryder Richardson’s Wild Welsh Zoo).

Just a short ten minute walk down the road you will find the magnificent Carew Castle which has an impressive history spanning 2000 years. Set in a stunning location, overlooking a 23-acre millpond, the Castle displays the development from a Norman fortification to an Elizabethan country house. The site incorporates an impressive 11th century Celtic cross, the only restored tidal mill in Wales, a medieval bridge and a picnic area, all linked by a delightful one-mile circular walk which enjoys uninterrupted views of the castle and an easy access path suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. Whether the tide is in or out the view never looks the same twice, nonetheless it is always just as captivating and this makes it a great inspiration for budding photographers so you will be sure to find an abundance of striking photographs available of it around Pembrokeshire.

You will also find one of Pembrokeshire’s best place to eat out, Carew Inn. This recently updated Inn offers delicious, homemade, traditional pub cuisine made from fresh local produce. In the summer Carew Inn hosts regular barbeques which are always a big hit with locals and visitors alike-great for entertainment on a summer evening. After you’ve filled your belly take a stroll down to the mill pond to see the castle in the sunset, a sight that never fails to impress!
