Manorbier

For a quiet, restful weekend break filled with the tranquil sounds of nature, and calming atmosphere, visit  Manorbier, a village of distinction. Unfolding its beauty onto the Pembrokeshire Coastline, Manorbier’s serene environment is truly breathtaking and inspiring. Located in South West Wales, it features all the charm that is typical of this area, along with another appealing feature; Manorbier Castle. It is also close to the popular seaside resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot, giving you the opportunity to reside in peaceful, countryside tranquillity, whilst being able to travel to other entertaining family resorts. Staying in the remarkable FBM Holidays detached holiday home of “Sweet Pea” Cottage, will heighten the pleasure of your stay, as it is snuggled deep within the Welsh countryside between Manorbier and Tenby, getting you close to nature by featuring a beautiful lawned garden. A five minute walk from this property will bring you out onto the spectacular coastal path, providing great views, and romantic late night walks.

Travelling to Manorbeir will delight your senses as well as set the scene for the journey in which you are about to embark upon. Meandering country lanes are filled with vivid colours of wild flowers, and bordered by golden fields and rich green countryside. Towering over the village is the marvellous sight of the ancient medieval castle. Constructed in the 12th Century, the castle is still an outstanding piece of architecture and although in ruin, its magic and historical tales have been kept well preserved. It was originally built for the de Barri family as a fortified Baronial home, however the Castle became famous later on, as it was the birthplace of Gerald of Wales, the well known scholar and medieval politician. Bursting with ancient history, the Castle is a must-see attraction, and will explore the deepest mysteries of your mind. Another historical asset to Manorbier is the fascinating attraction of “The Kings Quoit”, a prehistoric structure dating back as far as 3000BC! This is not only an interesting historic feature, but a serene place to enjoy the beautiful views over the bay.  The golden sandy beach is a stones throw from the village, and is a picturesque spot for a family day out. Children can have fun splashing around in the rock pools and chasing crabs, and the adults can soak up the sun, or try out some water sports. Surfing is very popular in this area, and attracts many sporting enthusiasts every summer, and having the coastal path so close, it is also a great place for cycling. Manorbier village is a pretty scene, with a few shops and local amenities, “The Castle Inn” is a cosy pub located in the centre of the village, and offers up refreshing drinks and a tasty menu, if you want to travel a little further afield though and experiment with different cultures, dine with “Mykonos” a Greek restaurant located in Tenby, serving up a wide selection of Greek food, and is sure to provide you with a unique experience. Whilst in Tenby, you can take up the opportunity to visit the many shops, and also take a walk along the wide stretch of beach. Just outside of Tenby, is another beautiful fishing village, the quaint resort of Saundersfoot, also offering great restaurants, and quaint gift shops.

Taking a trip to Manorbier is guaranteed to leave you both thrilled and rested. With all the stunning qualities that this village possesses, there will be something for everyone to enjoy, that will leave you with many happy memories of a very memorable place.
