With only a week to go until the start of Pembrokeshire Fish Week, Saturday, June 22^nd to Sunday, June 30^th the countdown is on! Listed as one of the UK’s best food festivals by The Independent and Conde Nast Traveller and known as one of the tastiest festivals in Europe. This whopper of a festival has some 200 events celebrating Pembrokeshire’s fantastic fish and shellfish, wonderful coastline, and maritime heritage. For foodies, there’s a great range of eating out events featuring fresh local seafood and a mouthwatering variety of cookery demonstrations and workshops.

It’s startling news indeed, but hold your horses just a second before you go sprinting off upstairs to fetch those antique binoculars you last saw in 1973. Yes, the penguin sightings have been confirmed many times over, but if you want to check out these two-toned interlopers for yourselves, rather than staring out to sea for hours with nothing for company other than a packed lunch, simply pop on down to Folly Farm.

Looking for something different to go to in the half-term week£ Local community arts charity Span Arts has a mission to bring world class theatre, comedy and music to Pembrokeshire.  This month there are two great new events at the Queens Hall in Narberth:

The Welsh Rugby team have flown to Paris, no not for an early Valentine break but to prepare for battle with the French on Saturday at the Stade De France in the Six Nations Rugby Tournament.

It’s Friday again and what a weekend ahead.  Wales take on Ireland at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.  Come on Wales.  Tenby will be buzzing. Dragons, Daffodils and Leeks invading the town.  Love it.

It’s a new year and a new IRONMAN Wales journey, 2012 finished great for me and I completed my first IRONMAN in a very good time of 13 hrs and 22mins. All my hard work and commitment to training paid off and as a result of this, I have decided to enter again this year.

Not long to go till the Six nations kick off on the 2nd of February 2013. The championship will kick off with Wales against Ireland for the first game of the Six Nations rugby Championship 2013. 

January can be a quiet time in Tenby but at the moment especially at weekends we seem to have lots of visitors.  The restaurants and bars in Tudor Square seem very busy. Tenby is popular with people from other parts of Pembrokeshire for day trips and evenings out, as well as visitors from further afield, staying for short breaks or longer.
