Pembrokeshire Fish Week kicked of with a fantastic opening event for the whole family at Milford Haven Dockside on Saturday. Stall holders were the first to arrive and they started turning early in the morning getting the stands ready for the gates opening at 10:30am.
10:30am arrived and the crowds were already starting to queue at the gates for what turned out to be a great day out. The band and was playing to welcome people in and the fishy delights were cooking in the food tent.
As you walked through the event you were met with a giant fisherman welcoming you in to the childrens learn and play area.
There were wonderful treats to try and great gift ideas on sale, ranging from home made vegetarian delights to locally printed and designed clothing.
A range of food was on offer to fill those hungry bellies, Cowpots were selling their delicious ice cream, Caws Cenarth had some traditional made Welsh cheese, and of course there was some great fresh fish on offer.
Old Marriners, Baggy Wrinkle and Rocky Bottom were just a few of the real ales Preseli Brewery had on display, and some faboulas weslsh ciders from Gwynt y Ddraig, not to mention the full flavoured wine from Cwm Deri Vineyard.
The Nelson Quay and kayak taster sessions with TYF on the mackerel stage was fun to watch. As well as SW2U had some fab fishy criters along with intriguing, educational & interactive activitys.
The live music continued through the day with a number of different acts at the music arena including The Saxaphonics, County Jazz and Burnt Curtains.
This week is going to be filled with some fish treats including the Family Fun On June 30th we are holding a fun day at the Pembrokeshire Coarse fishery to celebrate Pembrokeshire Fish week. We will be offering discounted fishing some fun games for prizes tour of the site and most important tips on how to fish the water.
